Education
I graduated from Indiana university with a bachelor's degree in teaching. I took longer due to having two of my children while going full time and I switched majors. I was an art major, then a psychology major, before switching to education.
Experience
I have taught elementary, middle school, and high school. I currently teach high school math. I specialize in alternate approaches to math. I worked inner city schools most of my career. Most of my students came to me 1 or more grade levels below level. My last year in elementary, my students went from a 27% passage rate of skills to 94% passage rate by the end of the year. Last year I taught a class of geometry students who had failed the previous year and had not passed the state test. All my students passed the state test at the end of the year from that group.

Hobbies
I'm a nerd at heart and love to be up beat and silly. I have 4 kids of my own. Ages 10,8,4, and 2. Teaching math is my passion and I try to make it fun. I read and draw. I love all types of music. I'm into sports and sci-fi stuff (before it became cool). Most days you can find me using my spare time to play board games with my kids or watching movies.
